Andrea Pirlo Appointed as New Head Coach of United FC in Dubai

Andrea Pirlo is ready for a new challenge. The Italy and Juventus legend has officially been named the new head coach of United FC, a rising club based in Dubai and currently competing in the UAE First Division.

A Two-Year Deal in the Emirates

United FC confirmed the appointment in a statement on July 25, revealing that Pirlo has signed a two-year contract running until the summer of 2027. The club’s president, Ilie Cebanu, welcomed the Italian icon by saying:

Founded in September 2022, United FC is one of the newest projects in Middle Eastern football. The club achieved promotion from the UAE Second Division in its debut season and managed to stay in the top flight last year. With Pirlo at the helm, the club is aiming to push higher in the 2025-26 campaign.

Pirlo’s Coaching Journey

This marks the fourth senior managerial job for Pirlo, who began his coaching career at Juventus in 2020. In his debut season, he won both the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana. He later managed Fatih Karagümrük in Turkey and had a short spell with Sampdoria in Italy.

Now, Pirlo ventures again abroad, this time to the Gulf, where he will lead United FC in a competitive and growing football landscape. His first official match is set for September 20 against Al Dhaid.
