“There’s a great sense of enthusiasm in the squad,” Kalulu said. “We all know that to perform well in this World Cup, we need each other. Physically, we’re in good shape. There’s still one last push, and then we can take a short break. I don’t see this as a new beginning, but rather the conclusion of a very long season, one in which we reached our goal of qualifying for the Champions League. This tournament is a chance to end on a high note.”
The French defender, who was recently signed outright by Juventus following his time at Milan, is determined to make an impact. “When you play for Juventus, you play to win. That’s always the objective. We want to compete for the trophy, and I’m sure we’ll enjoy the experience while doing everything we can to bring it home.”
Kalulu also touched on head coach Igor Tudor’s message to the squad. “He emphasized how important it is to start strong, especially in our first match against Al Ain. Personally, I’d gladly give up ten days of vacation if it meant winning this Club World Cup. Titles are what build this club’s history.”
Discussing his permanent move to Turin, Kalulu added, “I never feared it wouldn’t happen. I trust the way I work. I focus on my role and don’t stress over decisions beyond my control.”
Kalulu also revealed that he briefly spoke with national team coach Didier Deschamps about his move to Juve during the Nations League matches. “We talked a little about Juventus, but our main focus at the time was the national team duties.”
With fellow Frenchmen like Comolli, Thuram, and Kolo Muani now part of the squad, Kalulu sees a strong French presence in Turin. “I don’t mind at all,” he said with a smile. “I’m glad Kolo is here, he’s a key player. Every top team needs healthy competition in the dressing room, and that’s exactly what we have.”
