Home » Official: Jonathan David Joins Juventus on Long-Term Deal Until 2030

Juventus have officially completed the signing of Jonathan David, marking one of the club’s most important attacking acquisitions of recent years. The Canadian international joins the Bianconeri on a contract running through June 30, 2030, after arriving in Turin and completing his medical at the J Medical center.
The 25-year-old striker, who was a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Lille, had been linked with clubs across Europe and the Middle East. However, David made no secret of his ambition to play for Juventus, and new general manager Damien Comolli accelerated negotiations over the past two weeks to finalize the deal.
Jonathan David landed at Milan Malpensa Airport early this morning before heading directly to J Medical. After undergoing routine tests and signing paperwork, he posed with a Juventus scarf, confirming that he will wear the black and white jersey next season.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the agreement includes an annual salary reportedly in the region of €6 million plus performance bonuses. David’s arrival further fuels speculation about the future of Dusan Vlahovic, who has yet to agree to a contract extension and could leave the club this summer.
A dynamic forward with proven experience in Ligue 1 and European competitions, David scored 84 goals in 210 appearances for Lille, establishing himself as one of the most reliable finishers in France. He also played a key role in Lille’s historic 2020–21 title win.
At Juventus, he is expected to fit into Igor Tudor’s 3-4-2-1 system, either as the primary striker or paired alongside other attackers such as Randal Kolo Muani and Kenan Yildiz. David’s mobility, pressing ability, and composure in front of goal are seen as ideal qualities to complement Juventus’ new attacking style.
In an official statement, Juventus wrote:
“Jonathan David is a Juventus player. The Canadian forward, born in 2000, has signed a contract until June 30, 2030. A new chapter begins for one of the most talented strikers in Europe, who has chosen Turin as his next home.”
Damien Comolli also praised the player’s ambition:
“We are delighted to welcome Jonathan to Juventus. His decision to join us, despite having other opportunities, reflects his desire to be part of our project. He is a modern striker with all the attributes needed to succeed here.”
David’s arrival provides Juventus with immediate flexibility. Should Vlahovic remain, Tudor would have a wealth of attacking options to deploy across domestic and European competitions. Conversely, if Vlahovic departs, the club can lean on David as the primary number nine.
Additionally, the Canadian’s signing signals Juventus’ intent to invest in younger, high-upside talents who can make an immediate impact while also offering long-term value.
Jonathan David is expected to join pre-season training later this month and could make his unofficial debut in Juventus’ friendly schedule before the start of the new Serie A campaign.
Fans can expect further updates on squad moves, as Juventus remain active in the transfer market ahead of the 2025–26 season.
